Ok, how does Milwaukee get wireless in the park, and TO doesn't? There are some factual errors in this article of course:
- wifi is a play on Hi-Fi and not "wireless fidelity"
- the security of wireless is just like the security of a wired ethernet, if you're not on SSL for doing work (or ssh or sftp, etc) then the data can be sniffed. So encrypt at the application level and fugged-about-it.
- if you want to have people sitting with laptops and wine and surfing you'll need to deploy before October. By then it'll be slightly cold
There's a place in the Beaches called Kew Park that has a nice opportunity to be wireless because the Grabba Jabba across the street ALREADY broadcasts the signal to the very north side of the park, albeit weakly. Anyone to "lightup" Kew Beach park?
